Backup and restore help
Keep continuity explicit.
Create a visible backup file, keep it somewhere reachable, then use Restore review before you replace local archive data on another device.
Two different files
- Backup bundle = the restoreable DayKept continuity artifact.
- Full archive export = a portable package with readable files, structured data and attachment files.
Before moving devices
- Create a DayKept backup bundle on the current device.
- Keep that backup file somewhere you can reach on the next device.
- Keep the backup file until you have checked the restored archive.
On the next device
- Install DayKept.
- Open Backup and restore.
- Select Restore from backup file.
- Choose the backup file.
- Read Restore review before you confirm.
What Restore review shows
- The backup file you selected.
- Whether that file is valid and compatible.
- What DayKept will restore or replace.
- The archive counts you should expect after restore.
Automatic backup copies on Android
On Android, Pro can also keep automatic backup copies in Google Drive. These are backup copies, not live sync for your archive across devices.
If something fails
Email [email protected] and include device model, Android version, app version and the exact step where the flow stopped. Do not send journal content unless support explicitly asks for it.
